Media Aggregation Firm Deploys TrueDelivery For Transport of Television Commercials – Nets Reduced Costs and Improved Service Levels to Major US Cable Operators
Los Altos, CA – December 3, 2007 – Radiance Technologies™, the leading provider of digital asset delivery systems, today announced that TelAmerica Media will begin utilizing Radiance's managed asset delivery services to deliver television commercials to multiple major US cable affiliates. Radiance's TrueDelivery solution provides an all-digital workflow for TelAmerica, enabling ads to be sent via the Internet on Radiance's overlay network. The Radiance TrueDelivery asset delivery system leverages patented algorithms to optimize bandwidth, enabling users to transfer files efficiently over public or private networks. TrueDelivery offers file-tracking capabilities, guaranteed delivery, and a simple-to-use interface accessible from any web browser. The move will reduce costs for TelAmerica and improve service levels by enabling TelAmerica to transfer the television commercials in digital form to its cable affiliates.
TelAmerica Media's CableConnect service offers its customers attractive placement options for ads on cable networks by aggregating unsold local inventories. This enables TelAmerica to offer its advertiser customer's cost-efficient plans at substantial savings off network rates.
“Our CableConnect service has expanded to 72 million households over the past 13 years,” said Lance Funston, CEO of TelAmerica Media. “That translates into over $200 million in annual commercials distributed. The FedEx truck just is not big enough to support our growth in content delivery; Radiance Technologies' TrueDelivery offers us unlimited scalability.”
“TrueDelivery eliminates some of the costly and time-consuming manual steps to commercial advertising workflow and delivery,” said Andy Brown, Vice President, Technology of TelAmerica Media. “By eliminating delivery of tapes of our advertisers' content and applying an all-digital workflow, we can achieve costs savings, eliminate any potential quality issues, and free up our employees to focus on our core business rather than on delivery issues.”
Additionally, since TelAmerica uses TrueDelivery to automate and schedule content distribution, it serves to keep bandwidth use and human support costs at TelAmerica Media headquarters in Philadelphia to a minimum.
“We are pleased to provide the technology enabling TelAmerica's move to an all-digital workflow,” said Tom Engdahl, CEO of Radiance Technologies. “This is another example of Radiance's growing acceptance in the marketplace as a leader in asset delivery – in particular, in the media and advertising industries, which are adopting automated, online asset delivery at a rapid pace.”
TelAmerica Media is expecting to yield results immediately by rolling out Radiance TrueDelivery to the second largest cable MSO in the United States by the end of 2007. By the end of the first quarter of 2008, TelAmerica will have achieved the largest footprint of digital content delivery in cable industry history.
