Building Out Existing Management Team, New Talent Will Help Expand Company’s Lead in Industrial-Grade Large-Content-Delivery Technology
Los Altos, CA, June 21, 2006 – Radiance Technologies Inc., a leader in managed asset- delivery systems and technology, today named Kay Kienast chief marketing officer, Mike Castle vice president of business development, and Mike Catalano vice president of engineering. Kienast will oversee marketing strategy and communications, public relations, and market research. Castle will drive the firm’s partnership and business strategy. Catalano will lead the company’s development of a new generation of large-content-delivery and collaboration applications. The executive-staff additions will enable Radiance to respond to unprecedented new demands for secure large-content solutions in Fortune 2000 companies, media creation and production houses, entertainment providers, and engineering organizations with graphics-intensive applications.
Kienast most recently was marketing general manager for commercial segments at Vernon Hills, Ill.-based CDW, a Fortune 500 firm and direct market reseller of technology solutions for business, government and education. Prior to CDW, Kienast held senior marketing positions at some of the industry’s most innovative telecommunications and packaging companies in the industry, including Newbridge Networks, Unisys Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation, Bell Atlantic Corporation, and Dell Computer Corporation.
“I see a clear paradigm shift in digital content – with new technologies available for driving collaboration on content and its secure delivery over the Internet,” said Kienast. “As companies face ever-increasing time-to-market pressures, technology from Radiance – with our agility to move fast and answer the demand – will reduce delivery times and costs dramatically.”
Mike Castle comes to Radiance Technologies from Onstream Media Corp., a leading online service provider of on-demand, rich-media communications, where he worked with some of the industry’s largest production companies and media outlets. Castle brings his more than 18 years of experience in media, entertainment, publishing, and working with enterprise customers. He is a frequent speaker at leading industry events, and is an authority on streaming media, digital production and related Web-based technologies.
Mike Catalano joins Radiance from Thomson, where he served as General Manager for the News Product Integration Center and directed the development and delivery of advanced satellite set-top boxes. Formerly, he was Vice President of Product Development for OpenTV, holding responsibility for the development and delivery of interactive television products. He also held the position of Vice President of Engineering and Operations for eMotion, a provider of software for digital asset management.
Radiance CEO Tom Engdahl said: “As we partner with the leaders in digital asset management in a variety of industries, and as Fortune 2000 companies ‘go digital’ at a breakneck pace, we will leverage the talents and experience of these leaders to broaden our market presence, build out our channel, and expand the applications for our industry-leading technology.”
